Our Church

RBCP is a fellowship of born again followers of Christ, called by God, and empowered by the Holy Spirit to be the testimony of God’s grace, the presence of Christ, and the temple of the Holy Spirit in the world.

We seek God’s glory through worship, love, faith, and truth. We come together as one body in Christ, unifying and crossing all bridges of nationalities although our mission is founded upon our Vietnamese roots. Our faith is in Christ. We use the Bible to equip God’s people with the Word and encouragement and to teach about God’s love and grace for mankind.

10:30am – Joint Worship with two separate sermons in English and Vietnamese (Thờ Phượng chung – Tiếng Anh và Tiếng Việt)

Our vision

A church for the Vietnamese and Asian-American generations – Acts 1:8 – Begin at Jerusalem and move out – We celebrate both VN and American cultural holidays (non-religious) Peter ministered to the Jews as Paul to the Gentiles (Gal 2:7)
A church that embraces family worshipping and serving together with Bible study groups in both languages. We may hold separate services or joint with bi-lingual praises and sermons. – As in the early church – Hebrews and Greeks in the same church but ministered by those who knew their cultures (Acts 6:1-7)
A church that fosters growth through small group discipleship, evangelistic lifestyle, and mission involvement (pray, send, and go)
A church that involves in VN local church network and denominational projects (VMB, VBTS, VN Fellowship)
A church that plants new churches, especially English-speaking Viet-Asian church

Our mission

Our mission is to build a community of Kingdom believers for evangelizing, equipping, and ministering to Vietnamese-Americans in the areas of Plano and beyond.
Restore the lost to God through Christ Jesus
Renew the saints through the study of the Holy Scripture and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Equip disciples to Reach the lost for the Kingdom of Christ.

Our History

In 1987, Dr. Tuan Nguyen and 12 other families left Faith VBC to start a new mission church in Richardson.
In 1999, Richardson VBC built a church building at 1000 Centennial Blvd, Richardson TX 75081.
In 2000, P. Chuyen became the pastor of the church.
In April 2003, Richardson VBC started the Plano Church Planting project with four families.
In 2004 new seminarian Thomas Le joined the new church and became its pastor in 2005.
Plano VBC continued church expansion and purchased their own building at 1616 G Ave in 2008.
Meanwhile, RVBC sold the Centennial building end of 2011 and searched for a new larger property.
September 2013: They bought the current property and continued to grow.
As the two pastors worked closely together, we saw that:
- Plano came from Richardson and shared its vision of Kingdom Expansion through missions and church planting.
- The two churches were less than two miles apart.
- The two pastors worked well together both in missions and in local ministry projects.
In 2016, they began to discuss the idea of coming together as one. Both churches are self-sufficient in both financial and ministry areas. However, both churches independently duplicate the number of ministry participants. This put a strain on both financial and human resources. Since Plano came from Richardson and carried its Kingdom vision, it was logical to join together and move in the same direction.
In 2018, with the inspired leadership of Dr. John Nguyen, the pastors and key leaders from both churches prayerfully considered the possibility of join force. This will reduce duplicated efforts and strengthen focus for better service quality.
2018/11/11 – Both churches voted, and the decision was made to merge in January 2019. We begin a new church with the Kingdom Vision and with the desire to see how unity will yield a stronger church, makes more impact, and better glorifying God. Please pray for us.
